Gosh I would never have associated these. I enjoy gardens but never really thought much about them until recently as I’m currently planning a major home move where I am actively seeking a garden in the main for my cats, but reading this I think I could certainly benefit as well. Thank you for the inspiration.

My pleasure! Love that you’re thinking about it this way. A garden really does give back more than we expect, for you and your cats. Hope the move goes smoothly and you find the perfect spot!

I’m looking forward to it - will keep you posted

Just came in from tidying up my front bed and dumping some winter boughs in the compost. I have my peppers and tomatoes doing well in my indoor setup. I am tired and sweaty and my back is not great but so happy. We are still expecting some snow on Sunday ( boo) so will enjoy the rest of 20c and sun today.

Sounds like a productive (and tiring) day in the garden. Nothing beats that kind of work, even if your back disagrees a bit. Glad to hear your peppers and tomatoes are thriving indoors. Enjoy that sunshine while it lasts, hopefully the snow holds off a little longer!

Love it! Love it! Love it! My wife gardens and she's getting smarter than me every day! I better get started!

Love it, Maurice! Sounds like your wife is setting the bar high, you’d better get planting :)

I will be growing a flower bed full of zinnias, marigolds, bee balm, black eyed Susan- I’ll also be trying a container garden one for tomatoes the other for cucumbers

That sounds beautiful, Cindy. Zinnias and marigolds are such a cheerful mix, and tomatoes and cucumbers in containers are a great idea. You’ve got a lovely season ahead!

I love this! Our family owned a small nursing home and our residents gardened! We even had folks recover enough health to return home. My mother is 92 and I am 70. We competitively garden. Her asparagus is first up, but my lettuce is! It’s just marvelous how research supports what we intuitively know —- we are meant to move, work, and think regardless of age!

So true. I love that you and your mother competitively garden. What a great example that staying active and engaged really does matter at every age!
