I love this article.❤️❤️Since being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis over twenty five years ago and now at the age of 68, I am forever finding ways to clean my home. I do have cordless vacuum, handheld vacuums, roll carts for laundry and cleaning supplies. If you have a dog, especially a toy breed, and a chihuahua, a bell on their collar helps. Since I have vision loss in one eye, sometimes I can not see Barney behind me. A bell on his collar does help and lets me know that he is near me. Again, thank you for sharing this article for us seniors.😊

If you have an area that seems slick, getsome of the strips designed for steps. To get to my back door, I have one step, then a small tiled area. When I saw my dog slip on it, I added those strips. Bonus is that they have a reflective strip, making it easier to see.

Grandma used to have a set schedule. Each day of the week had a chore attached to it. She’d like to get all of her chores done no later than mid morning. Then it was time to have a cup of tea in her rocker and just rest for half an hour. Come lunchtime the rest of the day was her own. She had a great schedule. I think it’s time I adopt her way of living a little bit more. There were some really good points that you had in here that I can incorporate in what she used to do. Thank you!

I suggest integrating work routines with eastern style exercise. It does a great job of helping with older joints. There are a lot of short exercises shown on SubStack. Look for them. Most are only a few minutes

Asking for help is protecting independence! Love that.

Do you have any tips for wiping my doody hole after dropping a sticky creamy one? It usually takes me a half a roll to get streak free

Not exactly my area of expertise ☺️ but this could help:

- Fold the paper instead of bunching it so you’re actually wiping, not smearing.

- Finish with a damp wipe or a bit of toilet paper + water (or a bidet if you’ve got one) instead of just dry paper.

- If it’s always super sticky, bump up your water + fiber and ease up on super-fatty foods – your poop texture changes a lot with diet.

If it’s been like this for a long time or you see blood/mucus, get a doc to check things out.

I use some spit on the toilet paper. What about Listerine?

Buddy… if you hit your south pole with Listerine you’re gonna discover a whole new definition of minty fresh. Let me know how it goes!
