Thank you. I’ve been seeing a pt for pelvic floor exercises and she is amazing. Helping to understand the role of the internal muscles that support the bladder was also informative and helped me to realize that I could retrain those muscles.
I am 75 years old. I am glad I mentioned the issue to my doctor and hopefully more people will become aware of this.
What a great reminder that things can improve when we talk about them and get the right support. Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m so glad you found a pelvic floor therapist who helped you understand what was happening and showed you that these muscles can be retrained. Stories like yours help others realize they’re not alone and that there are options available. ❤️
I had a fall a month ago and, since then am dealing with incontinence. What is helping me to deal with the issue are “adult pants”. Wonderful products, they come in all shapes and sizes and have helped me to relax about the problem and take it easy. No shame or embarrassment, just part of my underwear these days that enable me to move around with confidence and ease. At 87, this is something to be thankful for.
What a wonderful attitude, Tuula. Sometimes the things that help us feel safe and confident again are worth celebrating, even if they’re not something people talk about much. I’m glad you’ve found something that lets you keep living your life with more ease and less worry. ❤️
Thank-you so much for this. I have a strong "familiarity" with Interstitial Cystisis (sp?) which I have had since before puberty... so I get it.... LOL for me, it's using the restroom every hour whether I think I need to. There is a LOT more treatment for me with this but that's another subject!
Thank you, that’s very useful

Something I’ve learned is that we often become experts in things we never wanted to learn about. ❤️
Thank you for sharing that. It sounds like you’ve been dealing with it for a very long time. Wishing you some easier days ahead!
