I teach multiple free Tai Chi classes every week that are open to everyone in my community. Many of my students are seniors, and it's not uncommon for them to come to me with serious mobility issues related to aging, sedentary lifestyles, past injuries, etc.
No matter the cause or the severity, I try my best to help them. There's something quite special about seeing their progress in real time as their practice of Tai Chi increases their strength, balance, and overall vitality.
Tai Chi is the gift that keeps on giving, and it's never too late to start!
I had a stroke 2 1/2years ago. Tai Chi has literally been a lifesaver. I found a YouTube Video that I love. I Stuck with the same one and can now do the routine without watching the TV. I really like listening to the music and instuctor (he’s also a physical therapist) and Tai Chi wherever I am.
That’s wonderful, Marie! Ten minutes of Tai Chi a day can make such a difference — it’s amazing how something so gentle can boost balance, calm, and energy. Keep it up — small, consistent steps really do add up. 🌿
I’ve been wanting to learn tai chi, but the written descriptions aren’t clear enough for me to understand what to do. I got as far as Holding The Ball and gave up. I need to look for video tutorials.

Excellent article and advice. I've been using a free Tai Chi video routine and even 10 minutes a day helps.
